Dr. Marilyn S. George, Ed.D, Associate Executive Director of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges came to visit and gave us an interesting workshop on accomplishing the self-study report in preparation for the upcoming accreditation on 2010.
There were atleast a total of 40 teachers attended from our school 4 of which were teachers from Ekamai International School. Some of our teachers were not able to attend due to a 3-day Pathfinder camp scheduled this week.
First off, she started with the introduction giving us a background about WASC and the purpose of its existence and so on. Then she gave us a guide on how to accomplish the self-study report which I think helped most of our teachers.
Indeed doing a self-study report is challenging but it's worth the effort as it helps the school improve growth areas and the quality of education that the school is providing to the students.
WASC was first thought of as "
We
Are
Still
Confused". Now that the workshop has enlightened most of our confused minds it is now "
We
Are
Student
Centered"
